logically there is no difference whatsoever, it is only different than
what you have come to accept.
standard track:
"remote site" submits programs and scripts to RB
RB contacts CE
CE submits job wrapper to WN
WN pulls programs and scripts from RB and runs them
glidein track:
"remote site" submits condor_glidein to RB
RB contacts CE
CE submits job wrapper to WN
WN pulls condor_glidein from RB and runs it
[ this may not be correct, it may use the glidein already installed! ]
glidein pulls programs and scripts directly from "remote site"
The only real difference I can see is that if Condor is run in the mode
(I forget which "universe" this is) that the actual executables being
run are not on the WN ... then it could get very sticky, trying to
figure out what the program is doing.
The trivial difference IMO is that in case 1, the scripts and program go
user -> RB -> WN
and in the second case they go
user -> WN
I am not convinced that there is anything fundamental in this difference.
