Hi Markus,
You answered a related question, which is "why move to a different sort
of watchdog system?" My question was specifically why to move to one
organized based on VO? Instead of some other grouping criterion. For
example one could consider having a watchdog per N users, where N is a
tunable parameter.
My worry about organizing per VO is that, like many other things
organized by VO, the temptation to make lots of assumptions about what
"organize by VO" means is very difficult to resist. This results in
problems later on. This is why I asked about VOMS : one might e.g.
assume "all people in the VO have the same permissions on the CE" which
will likely be wrong in the VOMS world.
I would prefer some more neutral method of improving the watchdog
scaling. It makes it harder to get wrong.
