Umbrella 2007
I am looking for speakers for HLG at the Umbrella conference in 2007.
The conference will be held from 28th - 30th June at the De Haviland
Campus, University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield. For further details see
the website www.umbrella2007.org.uk. The programme is still very much in
draft form but it will include the following themes or tracks:
Workforce development
Leadership/Management/Your contribution to the organisation
Reviewing your services
E-content and Knowledge Management
Librarians under pressure (law and ethics)
Communication (marketing, lobbying, advocacy
Research and evidence based practice (property
rights/information/education)
Information literacy (and teaching)
New developments, impact of technology
Conference sessions last 75 minutes and can be shared by two speakers,
so if you have a burning issue that would fit into one of these headings
and have always wanted to speak at a national conference this is your
chance to do so. Alternatively, if you have personal contact with
someone regarded as a "big name" in the health libraries field, whom you
feel would be interested, please get in touch with me so that I can
issue an invitation to speak.
Please help me to make this conference of interest to HLG members
Many thanks
Dorothy
