Hello Everyone,
Thank you, Emily, for updating everyone on the recent changes to the
postgraduate subcommittee. I will be the new Liaison Officer and just
wanted to introduce myself to anyone who doesn't already know me. I am
currently completing a PhD at Cranfield University, a university which is
attempting to increase its health expertise and knowledge. Previous to
this, I completed my Masters at the University of Bedfordshire. I have a
passion for health psychology that just keeps growing and therefore it is
going to be a true pleasure to share this passion with other postgraduates
and to support them in their personal and career development as health
psychologist trainees. I already have a few plans I would like to put to
postgraduates, but will do this more officially after the 'handover' meeting
that new subcommittee members will be having with those who are stepping
down. At this time, I will also endeavour to make myself known to
postgraduates and specific universities in order to bring more postgraduates
together. In the meantime, please do contact me with any issues that you
feel are of particular importance to you and other postgraduates and which
you would subsequently like me to take note of in my new position.
I would like to end by expressing a huge thank you to those subcommittee
members who are stepping down from their positions and providing invaluable
opportunities for others. I am sure I am not alone in expressing this
thanks. Not only have you created a supportive environment for health
psychology postgraduates, but your hard work and committment to the
subcommittee has helped drive health psychology forward. I am looking
forward to learning from you and hope that I can bring the same skills and
qualities that you all have.
Congratulations to the other new members of the subcommittee! I am really
looking forward to working with you in a way that will make a difference to
health psychology and postgraduates.
Best Wishes,
Nicola Davies
