ESRC Collaborative Postgraduate Studentship Competition Details
Aims: The aims of the scheme are as follows: developing research capacity;
undertaking policy-relevant research; building links with academic departments;
and to provide high quality research-based evidence.
Description: For 2007, the ESRC is running a Collaborative Studentship
Competition with 5 Government bodies. These include: Department for Transport
(Four +3 awards), Scottish Executive (Thirteen 1+3 and/or +3 awards), Office
for National Statistics (Five +3 awards), Department for Education and Skills
(Three +3 awards) and Welsh Assembly (Two 1+3 and / or +3 awards). ESRC expect
to receive proposals from prospective supervisors.

*Duration: > 3 years
Funding: Successful applicants receive an annual stipend of £2,000
above the
standard ESRC studentship award.
*Amount: Unspecified
Closing Date: 28 February 2007
Comments: The deadline for applications is 28th February 2007. Each
successful
applicant will be responsible for finding a student to complete the research,
satisfying the ESRC academic and residential eligibility requirements outlined
in the ESRC Studentship Guidance Notes 2007 (to be made available in January

Restrictions: Prospective supervisors should be based in ESRC recognised
outlets across the UK.
