Principal Environment Modeller\GI Scientist

We require an experienced environment modeller\GI scientist to facilitate
the broadening of the ADAS offer and our expansion into new market areas.
The role requires the development and delivery of modelling and GIS based
research and consultancy to clients in government, agencies and the
private sector. The successful applicant will hold a senior position in
the team and must be able to work independently and within a team
environment, be driven to succeed and show an adaptable and creative
approach to the delivery of environment solutions.
The role is within the successful and expanding Environment Systems team
who provide innovative environmental consultancy underpinned by science-
based spatial, statistical, modelling and software capability. Benefiting
from the wider ADAS resource, the team works on a diverse range of
projects with a key theme of pragmatic decision making to support the
implementation of environmental policy.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
·A first degree in an environmental discipline or equivalent
·Preferably a postgraduate degree in a scientific discipline (or
demonstrable experience) along with 4-10 years professional experience
working in applied consultancy/research.
·A proven track record using environmental modelling, statistical analysis
and spatial analysis to develop and deliver innovative approaches.
·Experience of delivering applied research or consultancy outputs in one
or more of the following sectors: ecological modelling, biodiversity,
waste, health impacts, epidemiology, sustainable development, renewable
energy, planning, transport analysis.
·Demonstrable track record in business development and a good
understanding of market drivers and client needs, including the impact of
legislation across relevant sectors.
·Experience in project and contract management and the ability to deliver
high quality outputs to meet client needs whilst retaining profitability.
·Excellent verbal and written communication skills
This is a permanent position and will be based at the ADAS Woodthorne
office, which is within easy reach of the Shropshire countryside as well
as West Midlands conurbations. Salary will be within the range of
£30,000 - £38,500 depending on experience.
