If you have good IT, internet and database skills and the ability to work
to agreed data quality standards, you can make the most of them in this
stimulating and rewarding role. You will undertake data matching between
the Local Land and Property Gazetteer (LLPG) and other council address
lists, and will help maintain the LLPG by processing changes. You will also
carry out office and site based investigations to ensure the accuracy of
LLPG data and data matching.
Along with Microsoft Access or SQL database skills, you will need to be
methodical and able to maintain high levels of accuracy. Experience of
handling map information or similar would be an advantage.

Based in the GIS Team you will undertake the day-to-day maintenance of our
Land & Property Gazetteer (LPG), liaise with our customers and assist the
LPG Manager to promote the use of the LPG.
The role calls primarily for experience of using GIS as a front end to
capture and/or maintain data, and of creating or maintaining a large
property database such as an LPG.
Along with an understanding of the BS7666 standard for storing addresses,
you will also need skills in Microsoft Access (or SQL Server) for
maintaining data and an understanding of data quality issues and quality
assurance techniques. A willingness to undertake site based investigations
is essential.
