The Company
Getmapping is the leading supplier of aerial photography in the UK, the
Millennium Map has become established as the de facto standard for aerial
imagery of Britain amongst professionals and through its online sales of
consumer products has become a household name. The Millennium Map is now
being re-flown using a large format digital camera, producing high-
resolution colour photography. The company has a vast archive of data that
is being constantly updated and distributed and is looking for a recent
graduate to undertake an important data management and fulfilment role. The
post will be based from our Hartley Wintney office in Hampshire; it is a
permanent full-time position starting immediately. This is an excellent
opportunity for the right person to join an expanding company in a proven
market. Salary is negotiable within the range of £18-22k pa depending upon
qualifications and experience, plus a company bonus scheme. Getmapping is

The Role
You will develop, manage and co-ordinate a comprehensive data management
system for many terabytes of imagery datasets and associated metadata. You
will liaise closely with internal departments and external subcontractors.
You will develop and implement robust quality management procedures for the
maintenance and update of all geographic data and work to maximise the
storage efficiency and the fulfilment and distribution of geographic data
to clients and partners.
Skills
Candidate should have Access/ Excel and other Database management skills.
A Geoscience degree is preferable but not essential, but a working
knowledge of digital geographic data will be required, particularly raster
data and metadata standards.
GIS software experience needed (preferably Mapinfo). CAD or image
processing software experience would also be useful.
Must have excellent organisational, time management and interpersonal
skills, an attention to detail and a methodical approach to project work,
whilst being flexible and versatile.
