From Enru Liu, British Geological Survey:
Dear Colleagues,
The 12IWSA - 12th International Workshop on Seismic Anisotropy will be held in
Beijing between 22-27 October 2006 jointly organised by the Institute of Geology
and Geophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the British Geological Survey.
IASPEI (International Association of Seismology and Physics of the Earth's Interior),
SEG (Society of Exploration Geophysicists) and CGS (Chinese Geophysics Society)
are official sponsors of this international workshop.
The Workshop will cover all aspects of seismic anisotropy in a broad sense and its
implication and applications in earthquake seismology, global seismology and
exploration seismics. Areas that will be covered, but not limited to, include
seismic scattering, seismic tomography, scaling issues, fluid flows, fracture
characterization, stress monitoring and earthquake predictions, microseismicity,
time-lapse seismic monitoring, frequency-dependent anisotropy, etc.
Thank you for those who have sent me the registration forms. A few of you have
also sent abstracts. I'd like to remind you that the deadline for reduced
registration fee of GBP£380 (or US$650) is 15 August. After these 15 August,
