Geology.
RHODES UNIVERSITY
DEPARTMENT OF GEOLOGY
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the
following bursary post from as early a date as possible:
XSTRATA RESEARCH FELLOW IN ECONOMIC GEOLOGY
This is an endowed post-doctoral position, initially available for three
years, with subsequent renewal subject to satisfactory development of an
active research programme. The incumbent is expected to conduct
leading-edge research into the geological, geochemical and/or
mineralogical aspects of mineral deposits, with particular geographic
emphasis on the African continent. Applicants should have a PhD or
equivalent qualification and a currently active track record of
appropriate research activities and publications.
The Geology Department is, through this position, seeking to expand and
enhance its research capacity in economic geology, to complement the
existing internationally recognised post-graduate course-work programmes
in mineral exploration and economic geology. Further particulars and
