Hi Bob,
when I was encouraged to propose this theme session for Weecha by Barb Dutrow and
Sorena Sorensen, I did not realize that there was a plan for a symposium to honor Charlie as
well. I have put in a request that the talks are not scheduled at the same time. It seems
appropriate that the posters be scheduled for the same time. I hope that those more
interested in mineral chemistry will submit talks to Charlie's theme session and those more
interested in other aspects of metamorphic petrology will submit them to Weecha's session.
I hope to see you there next fall.

I concur with Mike, but this does present a quandary for those of us who are
long-time friends and admirers of both Charlie and Weecha and who plan to
present. With the limitation to one presentation at GSA, whom do we choose to
honor with our active participation? At least let us hope that GSA does not
overschedule them at the same time, as they have done in the past with closely
overlapping sessions.
