Dear geo-env members
This is to inform you of changes to the Resource Discovery Network Hubs,
in particular EEVL, PSIgate and GEsource.
We are pleased to announce that the Intute service was launched on
Thursday 13th July 2006. Intute is the new face of the Resource
Discovery Network (RDN), and is a free national service enabling
lecturers, researchers and students to discover and access quality
Internet resources. Intute exists to advance education and research by
promoting the most intelligent use of the Internet.
Intute has been created by bringing together the eight hubs of the RDN
(SOSIG, EEVL, Humbul, BIOME, Artifact, PSIgate, GEsource, Altis) and the
Virtual Training Suite. The new service provides information and tools
to help you access the best of the Web for education and research.
Intute: Science, Engineering and Technology has been created by bringing
together EEVL (engineering, mathematics and computing), PSIgate
(physical sciences) and GEsource (geography and the environment) Hubs.
There are a number of free support materials for adaptation and re-use
in teaching and training, including "Quick Guides" and Powerpoint slides
