Dear All
I have a challenge for you all!
Unfortunatley the geological library here at Scarborough Museums was
decimated in the 1970's as such we have very few reference volumes
available to us.
I am trying to obtain copies of the follwing two references which
relate to a lower Jurassic plesiosaur skeleton we 'lost' in the 19th
Century.
1. Dunn, John, 1831 'On a large species of Plesiosaurus in the
Scarborough Museums' Proceedings of the Geological Society of London,
Vol 1 pp.336-337
2. Williamson, W. C., 1837 'On the distribution of fossil remains on
the Yorkshire coast' Transactions of the Geological Society of London.
series 2, vol 5, pp223-242
If anybody could supply me with either photocopies or scans of these
two papers I would be hugely grateful!
Many thanks and best wishes to all
Will Watts
