Call to Arms on this page of the ABC of Working With Schools might be a good place to look - if no-one has a speedier alternative.

Subject: leather-working tools
Dear all,
I'm slightly loathe to Google for leather... in the first instance I'm looking for a leather-worker's glove that will protect my left hand from gimlets, awls and various other pointy things in my right hand. Or perhaps there is another trade that has similar protective clothing that might be suitable? I'm carving Upper Palaeolithic style portable art into animal rib bones and am fed up with jabbing my fingers that are holding the bone. Can you suggest anything?
