Dear Colleague,
We would like to draw your attention to a special session at the Fall 2006 AGU
meeting in San Francisco.
T19: Quantifying Interactions Between Exhumation, Climate, and Tectonics
Description:
The last decade has seen significant advances in identifying and quantifying
feedbacks between erosion and tectonics. Recent studies have focused more
attention on the effects of spatial and temporal variability of factors such as
precipitation, glaciation, fault slip rate, and erodability. These studies are
powered by tools as diverse as cosmogenic and stable isotopes,
thermochronology, improved paleoaltimetry, precipitation measurements, sediment
budgets, and paleobotany. We are interested in contributions which explore
interactions between erosion, rock weathering, climate and tectonics on
different spatial and temporal scales - from hillslopes to mountain ranges, and
from yearly cycles to millions of years. Both model- and data-driven
presentations are encouraged.
Please consider submitting an abstract for this session.
The abstract deadline is September 7th.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact one of the convenors.
NOTE - please do NOT REPLY to this email, as it will be sent to the entire list
:-)
We hope to see you in San Francisco!
