Parks and Gardens Data Partnership

Invitation to Tender

Companies are invited to tender for the work of developing and
implementing an integrated database, content management system and
website for the Parks and Gardens Data Partnership. The PGDP is a
partnership between the Association of Gardens Trusts and the
University of York and is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Functional Requirements and Requirements for Tender are available on
request from [log in to unmask]

Companies are asked to recommend suitable software for the project,
bearing in mind suitability for purpose, cost, ease of implementation
and future maintenance and enhancements. It is expected that this
will be based on Apache, MySQL and PHP.

Shortlisted companies will be required to prepare a presentation on
their proposal and asked to meet PGDP management to discuss this in
detail.

The closing date for tenders will be 31 July 2006.
Shortlisted companies will be notified by 15 August 2006 and will be
seen between 21 August and 15 September 2006.
A decision on which company is successful will be made as soon as
possible thereafter, but no later than 29 September 2006.

A contract will be drawn up and agreed by mid-October 2006.

A detailed Functional Specification is being prepared by the PGDP and
will be presented to the successful company once a decision is made.

It is expected that work on the project will start on 1 November 2006
and it must be completed by 30 March 2007. The project funding from
the Heritage Lottery Fund is strictly time-limited and will not be
forthcoming if completion of the project is delayed.

Tenders may be submitted by email to [log in to unmask] or by post to:
