Please find the following announcements for several Ph.D and Post-Doc
positions granted by the European Community through the Research
Training
Network 'Mountain Risks'.
'Mountain Risks' is a multidisciplinary and intersectorial project,
associating 11 research institutes and 3 private companies in the fields
of natural, social, economic, legal, engineering and information
sciences.
The project intends to develop an advanced understanding of how mountain
hydro-geomorphological processes behave and to apply this understanding
to
living with the hazards in the long-term. The main objective of the
project is to provide high-level of training-through-research in: (1)
Mountain hazard analysis; (2) Consequences of hazard and quantitative
risk
assessment; (3) Risk management; (4) Risk governance.
For the 1st call of the project, eight Ph.D positions are available at:
- University of Milan-Bicocca, Italy
- Utrecht University, The Netherlands
- University of Firenze, Italy
- University of Dortmund, Germany
- University Joseph Fourier, Grenoble, France
- Technical University of Catalonia, Barcelona, Spain
- Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne, Switzerland
- University of Caen, France
Two Post-Doc positions are available at:
- Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne (Switzerland) and
Technical University of Catalonia, Barcelona (Spain)
- Cemagref, Grenoble, France
Deadline for applying are November or December 2006, according to the
positions.
