Dear All,
I went to the site of netspar and since it is based in my country I looked
at the persons who are involved in this programme.
I was more than surprised to see that the Board of Directors consists of
three men.
The Advisory Council consists of 10 persons, 9 of them male, of one person I
could not determine on the basis of the name whether it is a man or a woman.
The Scientific Council consists of 6 persons, 5 male one female.
The Partner Council consists of 12 persons, 10 male, 2 female
Can we have any confidence in a programme that is so unbalanced in the
composition its important bodies and is there any guarantee that their
choice of issues will not show a similar bias ignoring the situation of
women, and more specifically of older women. I know that in most research
older women are invisible (see the results of the European MERI project)and
here is another extensive programme that is likely not to pay any attention
to the special position of older women.
I just wanted to draw your attention to these facts.
Kind regards
Marja Pijl
