On the 1st-8th September 2006 artist Michael Chaitow will be giving a
weeks workshop
'STUDIES FROM NATURE'
He is an inspiring artist and excellent teacher with years of
experience painting and exhibiting around the world.
The course will be using water -based mixed media. It will be held in
the tranquility of an historic Chateau ,Castelfranc, set in the heart
of SW France,in the beautiful rolling landscape of the Tarn where in
September it can be a warm 25 degrees.It is about an hour from
Carcassonne.There will be a warm welcome ,wonderful food cooked with
local fresh produce and comfortable accommodation.
Michael's work draws on the metaphysical interests of artists such as
Blake and influenced by artists such as Samuel Palmer, Francis Bacon
and the art Hindu Stone Sculpture. He was a student of Cecil Collins
and will give a talk on the spirit with which Cecil Collins painted.

As part of the workshop there will also be a visit to a prehistoric
cave/rock shelter (easy access) which is rarely opened to the public,
with exceptional engravings that date back 26,000 years . This site
will be one of the inspirations for the course.
All proceeds from the workshop will go to help fund the work of the
Charity 'The Dandelion Trust'
