I am an MA Drawing student at Kingston and am currently working on
developing a visual representation of energy.
I'm looking at diverse scientific sources such as kirlian photography,
string theory, laws of thermodynamics, acupuncture, ley lines,
cosmology and atomic structure. I'm also very interested in the work of
John Latham, Keith Tyson and Conrad Shawcross as they have all studied
the convergence of science, art and philosophy. What I like about their
work is that they develop scientific theories and concepts of their own
and then work to visually represent them. This is what I want to do.
However, the big surprise for me has been my inability to find any
contemporary artists or artist/scientist collaborations who are looking
at energy in particular as a subject. Does anyone out there have any
ideas as to where I can look?
best wishes
Caroline
