While working as an orthopaedic nurse I often used to illustrate the nature
of the injuries and operations as I explained things to patients. Tis tended
not to be anything elaborate but simple and outline sketch drawn in biro and
using a red biro to indicate fractures or newly inserted prostheses. It was
usually drawn on the nearest piece of paper, usually a paper towel. this
illustrative method often helped to ameliorate the fear and suffering
involved in these processes.
I would rather imagine though, you are wanying to explore how people
suffering disease can explore their experience through drawing ?
Cheers,
Norman Trewhitt
