Help bring World Cultures to life… Contribute to the wealth of information
currently on our British Museum website and ensure children, young people,
teachers and families are able to access and learn about our diverse and
extensive collection. In this role you will create and maintain engaging,
relevant and up-to-date content for the Museum’s Learning and Information
web pages ensuring the needs of our target audience are fully met. Working
closely with other members of the Schools & Young Audiences team, you will
evaluate existing services, identify future online needs and work with the
web team to ensure appropriate learning resources are available and meet
curriculum demands.
You will be educated to degree standard with experience teaching in a UK
school or some other cultural institution. You will possess solid
experience working in a web environment with responsibility for content
creation and audience satisfaction. Experience teaching and learning using
web based resources is also essential as you will be required to create,
edit and evaluate our on-line learning resources. You should possess
excellent communication skills, both written and oral, along with an
ability to negotiate, persuade and influence key stake-holders to ensure a
cohesive and coherent on-line service. An ability to interact easily with a
wide range of individuals both internal and external to the Museum is
essential along with an ability to build and develop successful working
relationships with agencies such as BECTA and MLA.
