Ann,
I think that you could quite easily use sections of the DAST, for example
backwards span, verbal and semantic fluency, phonemic segmentation, which
are all conducted orally.
I think that you would have to do more screening based on the non-reading
elements of dyslexia (organisation, memory etc). You could look at the
Vinegrad checklist (see BDA website) and select appropriate elements of that
to supplement the diagnostic testing.
