Econtentplus Programme
Partner search from Province of Caserta (Italy)
Call for proposals for indirect actions under the multiannual Community
Programme to make digital content in Europe more accessible, usable and
exploitable (The eContentplus Programme)
The overall aim of the eContentplus programme is “to make digital content in
Europe more accessible, usable and exploitable, facilitating the creation and
diffusion of information, in areas of publicinterest, at Community level”.
Deadline for submitting proposals : 19th Oct. 2006
Province of Caserta is working on a Targeted Project (TP), which is directed to
create specific barriers that prevent or limit access to the use of digital
content at any stage of the chain — production, exposure, discovery, acquisition
and use. Ensuring the interoperability and increasing the usability of existing
datasets at cross-border level is a typical example.
The projects aims at creating a digital library where can be collected and
organised collections of digital cultural and scientific/scholarly content made
available to the public by cultural institutions (libraries, archives and
museums) in the EU Member States or other countries participating in the
programme. They can consist of all kinds of “physical” material that has been
digitised (books, audiovisual material, photographs, documents in archives etc)
and material originally produced in digital format. This is increasingly the
case in the area of scientific/scholarly content, i.e. the published results of
researchers’ work, including articles, papers, conference proceedings,
monographs, textbooks and other similar publications. In other words we are
collecting all the documents that belong to our land, our rich heritage.
Project duration: 36 months
The project will be structured as requested by European Commission as “Open
source” files, easy to use and available free!
The province of Caserta is looking for european partners interested to create a
multilingual digital library with a rich heritage. Who can give added value, who
has a digital content available, who wishes to create a digital heritage
available for many european countries can contact us.
