The second day offers opportunities for scholars to examine the significance of nations' pasts in the context of the study of nationalism in a series of panel sessions. Suggested themes include:

- National Pasts and War Memories
- Nations as National Heritage
- Present Representation of the National Past - Music, Art, Literature and Monuments
