Proportionate in the amount of damage it causes to each business in
terms of anti spam measures and where these are not in place, the time
to open and delete. I say yes

Subject: [data-protection] Australians get tough on Spam
This will interest any of us who deal with global business. I'm
guessing Nigel Roberts will also find much to savour here in his own
fight against spammers. $AUS5.5m fine for Clarity1. I bet they appeal.
Not that anyone would find them hugely appealing
The url http://tinyurl.com/y9flsm leads to a google search on Clarity1
and Spam and http://tinyurl.com/qslbc leads to the Federal Court of
Australia's judgement
I have a question, though. Much as we hate Spam, is this a
proportionate response?
