Dear All,
Services to minority communities
This is to give some information about recent activities at the
Department of Applied Social Sciences (DASS), London Metropolitan
University which are relevant for the QLP-Y programme.
1. Roma Support Group
There is a Roma Support Group event on 28 February to show a film made
by young Roma people living in London, about how the community has been
misrepresented in British society.
2. CDROM about the Latin American community in London
The CDROM about the Latin American community in London is produced as
part of the refugee community histories project. This is an HLF funded
project within which DASS provides the PG course element in research
methods and digital media for the fieldworkers from the 15 refugee
communities. DASS also has a fieldworker this year working with the Roma
community. The CDROM will be launched at the Brixton Library in
February, 2006.
I hope to attend the film show as well as the launch of the CDROM and
will write a short report in a future issue of "Youth Ideas and Action".
Please let me know if you need further details about both these
initiatives.
Regards,
Emily
