Centre for International Public Health Policy: Postdoctoral Research Fellow/Research Fellow in Political Economy and Public Health Policy
The Centre for International Public Health Policy is seeking an experienced researcher to contribute to an international study of the supply chain (production, distribution, marketing and retail) of three generic drugs (oxytocin, rifampicin, and fluoxetine) in South Asia, in the context of international trade and trade law, and the global structure of the pharmaceutical industry. The research is funded by a grant from the ESRC/DFID Joint Scheme, awarded to a team led by Professor Roger Jeffery, under the title Tracing Pharmaceuticals in South Asia: regulation, distribution and consumption.
You will have a PhD or postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline and be experienced in research and writing, with sound research methods and a good understanding of current developments in public policy, preferably with a knowledge of governance issues, and/or privatisation and marketisation with respect to the global pharmaceuticals industry.
The post is available from 01 September 2006 or as soon as possible thereafter, and is a fixed term appointment of 24 months.
