The Crematorium is at Barham, about halfway between Canterbury and Dover.
Trains go from London Victoria to Canterbury East, or on to Aylesham close
by, then Taxi. A train goes from Charing Cross and London Bridge to
Canterbury West, then Taxi. The trains are an hour and a half and more.
A number of his close friends have been thinking about a gathering at a
later date to remember John and to celebrate his contributions to our
understanding of society and to each of us as friends. Please contact
myself, Andrew Glyn or NIck Jeffrey if you would like to be kept informed.
We are also collaborating on an obituary for the Guardian, and another for
Red Pepper. If you have memories of John that you would like to share please
do not hesitate to contact me or one of the above. If you would like to
suggest other journals that may wish to commemorate and celebrate John's
very significant contribution to socialist and economic thought, please get
in touch.
