CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
Deadline: March 30th 2006
The first conference and series of workshops exploring issues
surrounding digital diversity is to be held at the ICA in London from
the 20 - 21st of July 2006.
The conference will investigate the diverse groups that form digital
environments and the varied activities they initiate. We hope to explore
developing strategies to create rich and diverse uses of networked media
and technologies both in local and global communities around the world.
The conference aims to bring together business, academics, practitioners
and learners in the digital field to promote digitally diverse practice
and highlight future market trends.
Examples of possible topics include:
Stop talking 'Masculine' Technology, start talking 'Feminine' Creativity
Is virtual life a lesser life? - Why isn't the industry diverse?
Reinventing the wheel? - Expect the unexpected - How to study the
amorphous web and other IT communities in a Global marketplace
In pursuit of the Matrix - Who controls technology?
The Fear Factor - More communities should mean more democracy, so why
is student demographic not diverse?
Horizons of the future - Analysing future trends
We encourage demonstrations and can accommodate a wide variety of
presentations. Technical support and honoraria for presenters is
included.
