Call for Participation
ICPS06 : IEEE International Conference on Pervasive Services 2006
26-29 June 2006, Lyon, France

-----------------------
We warmly invite you to participate in the IEEE International Conference on Pervasive Services 2006.
Pervasive services and computing are emerging as the next computing paradigm in which infrastructure and services are seamlessly available anywhere, anytime, and in any format. This exciting new paradigm is the result of recent research and technological advances in wireless & sensor networks, distributed systems, mobile & agent computing and autonomic computing & services. The 2006 IEEE International Conference on Pervasive Services (ICPS'06), to be held in Lyon, France provides a forum for researchers, engineers, application & service developers and users to present their latest advances in the field of pervasive computing and services.
The call for papers attracted 110 papers to general sessions. From the paper submissions, the program committee selected 23 contributed regular long papers and 26 contributed short papers. The papers are organized in sessions on Context, Middlewares, Environments, Mobility, Security, CHI and Positioning and Tracking.
In addition to the paper presentations, this year's program also includes a panel discussion organized by Dr. Mazin Yousif on ""Grid and Utility Computing - Do they really mean pervasive Services?".
The technical program contains two keynotes : "Enabling the Computer for the 21st Century to Cope with Real-World Conditions: Towards Fault-Tolerant Ubiquitous Computing" by Dr. K. Hummel, Vienna University and "" by Prof. M. Parashar, Monash University.
Five workshops are organized right after the conference, and we warmly invite you to consider participating also in these related events : SecPerU06 (Security, Privacy and Trust in Pervasive and Ubiquitous Computing), HPS 06 (Health Pervasive Systems), Software engineering for pervasive services (SEPS'06), Services Integration in Pervasive Environments (SIPE'06) and Multimodal and Pervasive Services (MAPS'06).
Listed in UNESCO World Heritage, "Lyon is a prime example of human settlement, an exceptional witness to enduring urban installation over more than two millennia". The social program will let you discover the diversity of Lyon, where good food, wine, culture and historical backgrounds merge into an unforgettable experience.
Complete program and registration information can be retrieved from the web site of the conference : http://www.ens-lyon.fr/LIP/RESO/icps2006/
