Please note: the BMVA meeting on biometrics has been moved to 14 February.
The call for participation has been extended accordingly.
Extended Call for Participation
VISION BASED BIOMETRICS
www.bmva.ac.uk/meetings
One Day British Machine Vision Association symposium in London, UK
on February 14, 2007 (new date)
Call extended to 18 December 2006
Chairs: Mark Nixon, University of Southampton and Chris Solomon, University
of Kent
The use of biometrics is of increasing importance in today's heightened
security climate. One strong advantage of vision-based biometrics is that
they do not necessarily require the explicit cooperation of the subject.
This allows both covert identity estimation but more importantly can provide
a transparent and user friendly interface for automatic identification
talks. This meeting will discuss techniques and algorithms for automated
biometric identification and verification based on visual information.
Relevant topics include:
. Face recognition
. Gait recognition
. Ear Biometrics
. Iris recognition, esp. at a distance
. Other vision-based biometrics
. Multi-modal, and multi-nodal, biometric systems
. Novel identity representations
. Quantitative evaluation of biometric algorithms
This list is illustrative, and is not intended to be exhaustive.
Please submit an extended summary of about one A4-sized page (no longer than
two pages) in length (PDF preferred) and which may includes links or
pointers to web-based illustrations, demonstration material or papers giving
more details.
Please submit papers by email attachment to Dr. Chris Solomon
([log in to unmask]) by 17:00 on Monday 18th December 2006.
