Subject: Laser safety
Please can you give me some advice. I work in the operating theatre, we are
due to start a surgical list for Diomed laser to varicose veins. Can you
advice me on the following laser safety issue:
Do we use disposable or cloth drapes to maintain a sterile field. The
guidelines I have always followed lean towards the cloth drapes as they are
less flammable than the disposable ones. I would be grateful for a prompt
response as the list commences on Fri 23rd.
Kindest regards,
Anna.
