Dear Peter,
We are starting to get a few people interested in SMS at Bristol. All very tentative, and rather traditional ;-)
We are currently using SMS to support staff / students on BBd, i.e., SMS alerts when system is down, they can send a question as opposed to using email etc.,
In terms of teaching, then it's send a question to the lecturer (both in an out of the lecture). They answer some and others go up on the discussion board for everyone to "discuss".
The next phase will be to start to start to evaluate the use of SMS to deliver learning activities. Probably start that this year.
Hope that helps
Cheers
Andy
