Hi Nigel
Yes, we at UAL have several organisations that have many thousand students
enrolled - either all students from one of our five colleges (5-6,000
students) or all students across the University (c24,000). Some
organisations, such as Student Services, have all staff on them in
addition, taking the total enrollment number to over 27,600.
Before we went with Blackboard ASP route we did have *occasional* problems
at peak times of the year with the server coping with the hit levels. Since
ASP, no real problems of this nature have been evident.
The number of organisations we have with all staff and students enrolled is
not great (maybe 8-10 at most), but there do seem to be more and more
sections of the university asking if this is possible.
Best, Evan
