We found this some while back, and there is no facility in the version
we have to purge the recyclebin, so I added to our overnight script:
#! /bin/sh
echo Purging all files over 7 days old from recyclebin to /tmp...
find /usr/local/blackboard/content/vi/bb_bb60/recyclebin/ \
-type f -mtime +7 -exec mv -f {} /tmp \; -ls |tee /tmp/recycled-old
echo Purging all files over 8Mb from recyclebin to /tmp...
find /usr/local/blackboard/content/vi/bb_bb60/recyclebin/ \
-type f -size +8192k -exec mv -f {} /tmp \; -ls |
tee /tmp/recycled-big
Basically anything over a week old or over 8Mb size gets trashed, as
far as the users are concerned. We periodically wipe /tmp anyway. We
simply don't have the disk space to do otherwise: users are daily
uploading PPT and DOC files of over .25Gb
