Poetess Archive Database
I write to announce a "beta" release of the Poetess Archive
Database. The Poetess Archive is a bibliography of works by and
about women and men writing in the "poetess" tradition between 1750
and 1900. Once a series of static html pages, this electronic
resource has become a searchable database. The web site includes the
electronic Poetess Journal containing essays by the site editors:
Katherine D. Harris, Harry Hootman, Virginia Jackson, Laura Mandell,
and Eliza Richards. The database and journal are currently under
peer review at Romantic Circles where, if accepted, they will move
permanently. Since Romantic-Circles reviewers will certainly ask for
changes to the search engine as well as to the presentation of texts
and bibliographic data, we welcome your recommendations for changes
as well. The site offers feedback forms, and we look forward to any
input that you are able offer. Go to:

Kathy Harris and I will be at the NASSR Conference at Purdue should
you have any questions or wish to make comments to us directly.
Sincerely,
Laura Mandell
