Fixed Term Position for 3 Years

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a team involved in
innovative research, service development and provision in the field of
electronic assistive technology.

This 3 year post combines clinical and research roles: to provide the
specialist clinical lead assessing and co-ordinating the use of electronic
assistive technology to promote independence for people with severe
disability, working closely with clinical scientists/engineers; and to
participate in research on electronic assistive technology as part of a
multi-disciplinary team of researchers in Barnsley Hospital and the
University of Sheffield.

Candidates should have a degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy,
Physiotherapy or Speech & Language Therapy, current registration with the
Health Professions Council and at least 7 years post qualification
experience, at least 4 of these within field of physical and sensory
disability.  You should have experience in applying electronic assistive
technology in clinical practice and in-depth experience of assessing
function in people with severe physical and sensory disabilities.  You
should also be committed to participation in research; an understanding of
research theory and the ability to apply research methods would be an
advantage.
