Accessiblemail.com in that case may be a good solution afterall as it
can integrate in to the institutional mail system. The interface is
skinnable so can have as much or as little functionality as you like.

Thanks for your suggestions. Actually this is for a client at an
institution who can only access webmail at their primary workstation
because of security restrictions in place on the use of the 'typical'
non web based outlook express. Therefore a vpn to the local non web
based Outlook Express client is not an option. I was hoping for a way
round this and I will try Thunder, but it may simply be a matter of
getting the security restrictions removed.

Doubt that this would work for the web interface which pressumably you
are using when away from your primary workstation? The only really
effective solution I have found is a vpn connection that lets me access
my outlook account from any location where I have connectivity. A
priced webmail client which I have seen and played with for a short time
but not used seriously is accessiblemail.com but it is a payfor service.

Have you tried Thunder as it works well with Outlook Express. I know
you wanted to use Jaws and try another mail program but it may be worth
thinking the other way round. Just in case, here is the webpage for
Thunder http://www.screenreader.net/ and a note about their policy.
"At ScreenReader.net we have freeware for blindness and visual
impairment special needs throughout the world. It is free only to
individual blind people for their personal use at home: it is not free
to organisations."

Subject: Outlook Express Webmail Client
Dear All,
I am having great difficulty in using the outlook express webmail client
with JAWS. The problem is that although each email does appear as a
separate link in the links list, the links have each word of the subject
of the email intersperced with unhelful peices of text such as "20%"
making it very difficult to listen to the subject of the email. One an
email has been located activating the link does not open the email (and
so I ahve not been able to read emails). I know that there is a PDA
version of the outlook express web client, and althought that does work
well with JAWS it does not have a facility for downloading attachments.
Are there any free webmail clients which are easy to use with JAWS that
do allow downloading of attachments? Are there any tricks anyone know
to making the outlook express webmail work?
Thanks
Alastair
