The Stage Technique International d'Archives, run by the Direction des
Archives de France, will take place in April-June 2007. This year's
course gathered 33 participants from 22 countries, from Algeria to
Uruguay. The course is delivered in French, and offers a great
opportunity to reflect on international archival practice with a range of
practitioners.
Details, including the programme of the recently finished 2006 session,
can be found on the following web page:
http://www.archivesdefrance.culture.gouv.fr/fr/formation/STIA.html
Clicking on the link FORMATIONS atop the page will restore the frames to
access the rest of the site and navigation bar.
Candidates are invited to submit applications before 30 September 2006.

Colleagues are also reminded that the International Affairs Sub-Committee
of the Society of Archivists invites applications for bursaries for
attendance at conferences overseas, or for training with an international

at the Society's offices by 31 July 2006. Bursaries will usually cover
only part of the total cost.
For further details of the bursaries, and guidelines and conditions for
applicants, please see the Society's website at

The Sub-Committee maintains details of overseas training and conferences
on the Society's website. Bursary recipients have written accounts of
events attended for ARC, with some of these also available on the
Society's website (click on Document Downloads at the bottom of the
homepage, and they are listed under International Affairs Sub-Committee).
