Mid Sweden University is a network university with campuses in four cities:

Archives and Information Science comprises the scientific study of the
origin, management, organizing and use of records, and the records'
function and impact on organizations, individuals and society.
Mid Sweden University has pursued education and research in Archives and
Information Science since the late 1980s. Today there are two senior
lecturers and one junior lecturer employed in this discipline within the
Department. Lecturers with specialized qualifications are occasionally
consulted from other disciplines and departments. The location within the
Department of Information Technology and Media means that issues related to
information technology are of focal interest, e.g. electronic
recordkeeping, information retrieval, digital archives, information
architecture, and business and systems development.
Mid Sweden University in Härnösand is the largest institution for education
and research in Archives and Information Science in the Nordic countries.
Four research projects are currently undertaken, focusing on problems and
complexity concerning creation, management, use and preservation of
electronic information in different types of organizations. The projects
are connected to the research profile Digital Communities.
Work duties
Research development, own research, teaching and tutoring. The Professor is
expected to actively take part in ongoing research, conducting development
of new research projects, contribute to the consolidation of the research
profile Digital Communities, and develop national and international
networks.
Qualifications
The successful applicant for this professorial position will have a
doctoral degree and documented research and teaching experience within
Archives and Information Science or corresponding fields. Qualifications

Assessment
Applicants should present their research experience with electronic
records. Administrative skills and other qualifications of relevance for
the position will be considered. Demonstrated leadership ability and
management experience, as well as ability to co-operate and communicate
with the surrounding community are also essential.
