**Apologies for cross posting**
Liverpool University Centre for Archive Studies is hosting a training event
entitled "Preserving Digital Archives" on Wednesday 22nd March 2006.
This is a one-day event focusing on the technological, financial, legal and
organisational challenges faced by repositories receiving deposits of
digital archives.
This training event will cover strategic and practical approaches to the
issue and will discuss developing strategies and current projects of
interest to professional archivists.
The programme includes input from local and national experts and
practitioners. The morning session, including speakers from the Digital
Preservation Coalition and the Digital Curation Centre, will provide an
overview of national strategies and developments and the afternoon session
will focus on existing projects and initiatives. The programme will also
include a workshop session for delegates to stimulate discussion of the
subject.
Places cost £65 for LUCAS members and £80 for non-LUCAS members and this
includes lunch and refreshments throughout the day.
