Community Education Worker
Heritage Education, St John's Museum, Warwick
Scale 4/5 £16,137- £20,235 full time permanent
An exciting opportunity to develop and use collections in imaginative
and creative ways by providing inspirational and accessible learning
opportunities for the widest range of users.
With colleagues in the County's Museums, Record Office, and Libraries,
you will organise and deliver collections-based activities for
non-school audiences and support the active development of the social
history collection through community-based projects.
You will be educated to degree level, friendly, enthusiastic and
outgoing, with the ability to communicate effectively. Experience of
working in museums or other heritage environments and a post-graduate
museums qualification is desirable. The ability to work flexible hours
and some evenings and weekends is essential.
This post would suit a highly motivated person keen to gain experience
of a wide range of outreach and learning activities in a cross-domain
environment.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, well-organised, self-motivated, person
to continue to develop excellence in our formal and informal learning
programme. The post is a key one within our services with responsibility
to manage an exciting schedule of learning activities to develop,
promote and enhance the learning potential and use of museums and
archives in Warwickshire.
You'll have a teaching qualification and experience and understanding of
learning within a museums/archive setting.
You will be friendly, outgoing and have excellent interpersonal skills.
You should also be a confident user of ICT, and have experience working
with both individuals and groups.
You will support the Head of Heritage Education in the continued
development and improvement of the service, co-ordinate the day to day
running of the service, manage booking systems, the group leader team
and the Group Visits programme, including schools visits, and oversee
the events programme.
