Statistician
The Institute of Cancer Research is at the forefront of international cancer research and, with the Royal Marsden NHS Trust, forms the largest comprehensive cancer centre in Europe. The Section of Cancer Genetics has an international reputation for its work on understanding inherited susceptibility to a number of tumours. We are expanding our programme of work in statistical genetics and seek a researcher with relevant experience in statistical methodology.
The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing large-scale association studies as well as to the design and analysis of other initiatives. Applications are invited for this new 3-year Cancer Research UK post to work on genetic susceptibility to cancer. There will be the possibility of renewal, subject to future grant applications.
Applicants must have a good first degree in mathematics or statistics and a postgraduate qualification in statistics or equivalent qualification and have previous experience of independent statistical research. Work will be based in the new laboratories within the purpose built Cancer Genome Centre in Sutton.
The starting salary will be in the range of £23,619 to £25,797 per annum inclusive. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
