Biostatistician / Senior Biostatistician - South East England
 
Salary: £30,000-50,000 Plus Bonus and Benefits - Dependent on Experience

My client is a global pharmaceutical organisation with over 8,000 employees
worldwide. The company dedicates its efforts to the development and
commercialisation of innovative medicines focusing on the severe disease
categories of CNS disorders, inflammatory disorders, respiratory and
oncology. 
 
With revenues above $2.9 billion in 2005 this company is a market leader
with a strong development pipeline. A 15% increase in operating profit to
$340 million in 2005 from 2004 illustrates the robust growth and market
share our client enjoys.

An opportunity has now opened for an ambitious Biostatistician to join the
Biometrics Division based at the UK Headquarters. Detailed client and

You will become a statistical consultant on clinical project teams across
phases I-III and as the Trial Statistician, you will work with the Project
Statistician on one or more protocols. You will be responsible for protocol
development, Case Report Form review, randomisation, review of Clinical Data
Management documents, writing of the Statistical Analysis Plan, blind review
prior to database lock, statistical analysis and QC of statistical
programming. You will also gain CRO supervision experience and assist the
Project Statistician in the preparation of summary documents for regulatory
submissions.
  
To be successful in securing this appointment you will have an MSc degree in
Medical Statistics or Statistics and at least 2 years relevant experience or
a PhD degree and at least 1 year of relevant experience.
 
The level of this role is open and the exact nature of the position will
depend on the level of the candidate, therefore we would like to here from
candidates up to Senior/Principle Statistician level with 5+ years
experience.

Specific skills we are looking for are;

* Understanding of ICH E3 and ICH E9.
* Ability to apply analysis of variance in a parallel group and cross-over
design plus be able to apply 1 additional topic in statistics (logistic
regression or extension to categorical data, repeated measures,
non-parametric analysis, survival analysis).
* Basic power analysis.
* Competency in clinical trial related SAS programming. 
* Good written and oral communication skills.
