This post is available immediately for a fixed term of two years (although further funding may be available).
The Clinical Trials Research Unit at the University of Leeds is a leader in the field of clinical trials. The Unit conducts national and international randomised clinical trials in a variety of clinical fields (cancer, cardiovascular disease and care of the elderly) and has an associated research portfolio.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join a team of six statisticians supporting the Unit's work on clinical trials. As a Medical Statistician in the Cancer group you will be involved in a wide range of statistical activities, including funding applications, design, conduct and analysis of Phase II/III clinical trials and general consulting to health professionals.
Depending on experience, you may initiate and lead a programme of research associated with early phase cancer clinical trials with opportunities for PhD enrolment.
With a postgraduate qualification in Statistics you will have excellent communication skills and be able to work well within a multidisciplinary team (trial co-ordinators, health professionals, programmers).
University Grade 6 (£20,235 - £24,886 p.a.) depending on experience.
