Mathematical/statistical scientist in Computational statistics.
A 2 year PDRA position is available for a mathematician, statistician
or physicist in the Warwick Systems Biology Centre, available now. A
number of projects will be offered, but priority will be given to areas
involving computation statistics, eg Markov chain Monte Carlo methods,
either algorithm development or applications (data analysis) in time
series and network inference. The central themes of the centre are gene
regulation, cellular signalling and spatial cellular processes with an
emphasis on strong multidisciplinarity, bringing together expertise in
medicine, biology, mathematics, statistics and physics. Key areas of
interest are gene-protein networks (e.g. circadian rhythms), data
integration (e.g. imputation from combined data sets), cytoskeletal
dynamics (e,g, actin networks), signalling (e.g. the transcription
factor NF?B dynamics) and parameter estimation from fluorescence
experiments. The available position will join any of these projects
(depending on experience). It is expected that candidates will have a
strong background in mathematics, statistics, theoretical physics,
computer science or a similar discipline and a PhD is essential.

Closing date 16 June, but applications will be considered until the
post is filled. Ideal starting date is before Oct 2006, but there is
