The post is available from 1 September 2006, or later by mutual agreement.
The Statistics group is one of the leading centres for research and teaching statistics, receiving a 5* rating in the last national research assessment exercise and offers a stimulating and friendly environment with first rate facilities.
Current areas of research interest include Bayesian theory and applications, the study of epidemics, applied
probability, spatial and shape modelling, time series, biometry, bioinformatics and medical statistics, risk theory, and ecological modelling. Preference may be given to a person with research interests related to those of the group.
You should have, or be about to complete, a PhD in Statistics or an equivalent qualification and be an active
researcher in any area of statistics or probability.
