Chair in Biostatistics (ref. 12103)
Faculty of Medical and Veterinary Sciences
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding scholar with an interest in the
application of statistics to biological science, particularly the emerging
science of animal welfare. You will be based at the School of Veterinary
Science but will be associated with the Department of Mathematics
Statistics Group, and will be part of the University Research Centre in
Behavioural Biology, which links the Departments of Mathematics, Biological
Sciences and Veterinary Science. All of these Departments have an active
research culture (scoring 5 or above in the last RAE). The overriding
criteria for this appointment will be the ability to provide academic
leadership in research and to develop an independent cross-disciplinary
research programme, employing valid modelling techniques, to push forward
the frontiers of animal welfare science.
Grade: Professor
Salary: Professorial grade salary
The University is developing a new pay, grading and terms and conditions
structure that will be applied across all staff groups.
All our jobs are currently being evaluated and we plan to implement a new
structure during the 2006/2007 academic year.
