SUMMARY OF ROLE: World leading Business Information company requires an
Epidemiologist for their Central London office to produce descriptive
epidemiological reports and products for major therapeutic areas key to
the global Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology markets

JOB ROLE: Under the supervision of the Director of Epidemiology major
responsibilities will be:
· To produce descriptive epidemiological reports and products for
major therapeutic areas key to the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology
markets in the USA, Europe and Japan.
· Working with the Director of Epidemiology on the design of the
syndicated portfolio for the major therapeutic areas.
· Proactively to generate ideas for epidemiological
products/deliverables and enhancements based on an understanding of
clients needs and Datamonitor's capabilities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Ø Msc (or equivalent in epidemiology or some other public health
related discipline
Ø Minimum 3-5 years experience in epidemiology, public health, or a
related area in academia (industry experience is preferable)
Ø An equivalent combination of experience and training demonstrating
possession of the competencies and skills listed below may substitute for
the above degree level and experience.
Ø An excellent knowledge of descriptive epidemiology, health
research concepts (including epidemiology) and systematic reviews.
Ø A good knowledge of analytical epidemiology and techniques
Ø The ability to research and synthesize data systematically, using
resourcefulness in finding information from publicly available sources
Ø Familiarity with government and publicly available databases (e.g.
NHANES, National co-morbidity database, NHIS, cancer registries) is
considered an advantage
Ø Advanced level Excel skills and experience with other statistical
packages (e.g. SaS, Stata, etc…)
Ø Demonstrated fluency in English and strong skills in scientific
writing
Ø Excellent presentation, communication and client management
Ø Strong organizational and analytical skills, ability to meet tight
deadlines
Ø Ability to learn quickly and produce quality results
